MUMs to dig deep for garden

The new MUMs (Maternity Users Montrose) group has decided to focus its fundraising efforts around developing the garden area at the new Montrose unit.
The building itself and essential equipment are provided for within the NHS budget for the project, and land has been included for a garden. The development of this outside space provides a welcome opportunity for the community to get involved. MUMs wants to ensure it is a calming, peaceful and beautiful place where women in labour and new mothers can sit or wander. The unit is due for completion by the end of 2010.
The MUMs group is also planning a Baby Show in the town later in the year. The idea is to bring local retailers of baby related products and expectant parents together.
Further information about fundraising events and how you can donate will be posted in due course. Meantime, the next MUMs meeting is on Tuesday 2nd February at 7.30pm in the Picture House Montrose. Anyone with an interest in fundraising for the unit or promoting and supporting the work of the midwives at Montrose Maternity is welcome to attend.
