Arbroath midwives are increasing their efforts to encourage women to choose their local unit for birth.
Midwifery team leader Chris Field says, "The unit continues to strive to provide the best possible care for all women, so we urge women to use the facilities in Arbroath to birth their babies."
Arbroath midwives are the 'first point of contact' for pregnant women in the area. This means that once you have had a positive pregnancy test you should call the unit on 01241 822537 to arrange a booking visit.
One of the midwives is about to undergo training in the use of aromatherapy oils in pregnancy, labour and the postnatal period. She will complete this in June, and is looking forward to offering this additional service to women who wish to receive it.
Aquanatal classes also contribute to a healthy pregnancy and birth. All pregnant women are welcome to join midwife Fiona Mineard at the Arbroath swimming pool on a Tuesday.
