MUMs show "great success"

A busy MUMs Baby ShowVisitors and exhibitors at the first MUMs (Maternity Users Montrose) Baby Show have hailed the event as a great success.

Over 200 members of the public, many with bumps and babies, came through the doors of the Park Hotel on Sunday and raised £1100 for Montrose Maternity in the process. They had over 30 baby and child focused stalls to browse, providing everything from essential equipment such as prams to casts of bumps! Younger visitors were able to enjoy Bookstart rhyme time sessions and face painting.

Bookstart session at MUMs Baby ShowThe raffle attracted contributions from an amazing range of local retailers. A full list of prizes and winners is here.

A spokeswoman for the MUMs group said, "We would like to thank everyone involved - the exhibitors, raffle donors, sponsors and members of the public for supporting the event, and the Park Hotel for the venue. We want to give a special mention to Kirstie Abbey for all the energy she put into organising the event."

She added, "We have had such great feedback that this is likely to become an annual event in the MUMs calendar."

Midwifery team leader Phyllis Winters thanked the group for all their support and hard work saying, "The baby show was a great success and the midwives at Montrose really appreciate all your efforts."
