The next meeting of the new Montrose Multiples group is this Wednesday from 1-3pm in Montrose Maternity Unit, with all parents or expectant parents of twins and multiples welcome to come along.
Organiser Irene Hughes says, "I have twin boys who are nearly 4. I decided to start the group as, when I was pregnant and during their first year or so, I often felt that a multiples group would have been of great benefit to me." With the nearest groups being in Aberdeen and Perth, it wasn't easy for her to get to either. Having recently managed to attend a meeting of the Aberdeen Twin Group, Irene was inspired and encouraged to start a local group.
Anyone from across Angus or further afield in Tayside or Grampian is welcome. The Montrose Multiples group meets from 1-3pm on the last Wednesday of the month at Montrose Maternity. Although it is primarily intended as an antenatal and postnatal group there is no restriction on the age of multiples attending, and siblings are also welcome. The group is informal and there is no committee or fee for attending, although there may be a charge in future if those attending decide to become registered with TAMBA (Twins and Multiple Births Association).
Dates for the rest of the year are on this flyer, which you can also print off if required. Further information from Irene Hughes on 07847 571585.
The development of the group is backed by Montrose midwives and the MUMs (Maternity Users Montrose) group.
